Aseyin of Iseyin joins his ancestors at 62

Aseyin of Iseyin in Oyo State, Oba Abdul Ganiyy Adekunle Salaudeen, Oloogunebi Ajinese has joined his ancestors.

Family sources confirmed that the traditional ruler joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday, July 24 at the age of 62 years.

The monarch, who ascended the throne in 2007, reportedly died at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, where he had been for months due to undisclosed ailments.

His remains, according to reports, were being arranged for onward journey to his town.

Traditionalists are said to have begun passage rites around the ancient town.

Oyo State has been hit by the sudden death of some of its prominent traditional rulers in recent times.

Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oladunni, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji and Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi are some of the traditional rulers that have joined their ancestors in the past eight months.
