Atlético Madrid close in on Ademola Lookman signing

Spanish giants Atlético Madrid have reached an agreement with Serie A side Atalanta to sign Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman.
The Spanish club said on Sunday that Lookman is already in Madrid to complete the move.
“The agreement is subject to the player passing his medical and finalising the terms of his contract,” Atlético said, without disclosing further details.
Lookman is expected to undergo his medical on Monday.
The 28-year-old previously played for Fulham and Leicester City before joining Atalanta in 2022. He has also featured for RB Leipzig and Everton.
Lookman scored three goals for Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations, where the Super Eagles finished third after losing to South Africa on penalties in the semi-finals.
Atlético are currently third in LaLiga, nine points behind second-placed Real Madrid and 10 points adrift of leaders Barcelona after 22 matches.
Diego Simeone’s side will face Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League play-offs later this month.
