Attack in Ibadan: Police moves to arrest MKO Abiola’s widow

Mrs Dupe Onitiri-Abiola, the alleged sponsor of the invasion of the Oyo State Government Secretariat in Ibadan by some Yoruba Nation agitators is now the target of a manhunt by the Nigeria Police.
Onitiri-Abiola, widow of the late Chief Moshood Abiola became the target of a police hunt when she was shown in a viral video claiming to be the cause of the violence that shocked the government of the six states in the South-west.
Brandishing rifles and other weapons and dressed in military camouflage, the agitators stormed the Oyo State House of Assembly complex, inside the Oyo State Secretariat, where they raised their flag.
They also attempted to get past the governor’s office security but were stopped.
Twenty-one of the agitators were apprehended. and were paraded by the police in Ibadan.
In a statement on Saturday, the leader of the Yoruba Self-determination Struggle, Prof. Banji Akintoye and Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho, disassociated themselves from the incident, pointing accusing fingers at the group headed by Mrs Dupe Onitiri-Abiola.
Also, one of the sons of the late MKO, Jamiu Abiola, condemned Onitiri’s involvement in the incident, describing it as shocking.
