’Attack uncalled for’ – Kwara Rep Saba decries alleged attempt on his life

The lawmaker representing Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, Ahmed Adam Saba, has condemned what he described as a sponsored attack on his life, saying the incident would not deter him from serving his constituents.

Saba made this known in a statement issued in Ilorin following the attack, which occurred on Tuesday in Tsaragi, Edu LGA of Kwara State, as he was leaving a public function.

He questioned the motives behind the attack, alleging that political opponents may be behind it and describing the act as uncalled for.

According to the lawmaker, individuals with genuine intentions to serve the people would not resort to violence or intimidation through the use of thugs.

He stressed that the political space remains open for all aspirants, noting that power ultimately comes from God and not through acts of violence or coercion.

Saba further stated that the attack would not weaken his resolve to continue delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of his constituency.

“Nobody can intimidate me by any means possible; I am not a pushover in politics, and anyone thinking along that line should reconsider,” he said.

He, however, called on the Nigeria Police Force to investigate the incident and bring both the sponsors and perpetrators to justice, urging that the state must not become a ground for political intimidation.
