Bauchi governor reappoints 3 ex-commissioners as Special Advisers
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has appointed three of his former commissioners as special advisers.
This is coming less than 48hours of their dismissal as Commissioners.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
The move, according to the statement, reflects the governor’s commitment to “effective leadership, inclusivity, and the attainment of his administration’s developmental goals.”
The appointees include Abdulhameed Bununu, the former Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, now Special Adviser on Multilateral Coordination and Regional Integration; Usman Danturaki, the former Commissioner for Information and Communication, now Special Adviser on Labour Matters and Contributory Pension Scheme; and Madugu Yalams, the former Commissioner for Agriculture, now Special Adviser on Technical and Vocational Education.
The statement added, “Governor Mohammed urges the appointees to bring their wealth of experience, dedication, and expertise in their respective fields to contribute significantly towards the attainment of the Governor’s vision for Bauchi State.
“He calls on them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, transparency, and renewed focus on improving the lives of the people of Bauchi State.”
Mohammed reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to good governance, accountability, and inclusive development for all citizens of Bauchi State.
It would be recalled that the governor early on Tuesday had reshuffled his cabinet and sacked five commissioners.
He said the reshuffling is to reinvigorate governance and ensure optimal service delivery to the people of the state.
