Bank offers Pastor Genesis N1bn loan to expand ministry

Popular pastor and founder of Genesis Global Ministry, Lagos, Israel Ogundipe, has revealed that a bank offered him a loan of N1 billion.

Ogundipe, who is a pastor with the Celestial Church of Christ, said the loan was offered to help him expand his ministry and reach more members globally.

He disclosed this while speaking with Daddy Freeze on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Pastor Genesis, as he is fondly called, also mentioned that the bank showed him details of other churches that had taken similar loans.

Ogundipe explained that from the list he was shown, some churches had taken loans ranging from N3 billion to N4 billion.

“A bank called me two months ago and said they wanted to loan me N1 billion. They offered me the loan, and I asked them what it was for. They replied that they knew churches were getting such loans, and they believed I would be able to repay it because they knew my church was big.

“I then asked them how they expected me to make the repayments, and they said that during revivals and crusades, we could repay the loan monthly.

“They mentioned some churches that had taken loans from them ranging from N3 billion to N4 billion. I asked them how they expected me to repay such a large amount, and they explained that those who take such loans never stop holding conferences, crusades, and revivals, and from there, they generate the money to repay the loans,” the pastor said.
