Despite an impressive performance at the recently concluded AfroBasket qualifiers in Tripoli, Libya, Nigeria’s position in the men’s world basketball rankings remains unchanged.

The Nigerian men’s basketball team recorded three victories at the qualifiers, but D’Tigers maintained their position as the 42nd-ranked team globally in the latest rankings released by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

According to the rankings, Nigeria is currently the sixth-best team in Africa.

Mali emerged as the highest mover, climbing from 18th to 12th position.

D’Tigers will hope to improve their ranking with a strong performance at the upcoming AfroBasket Championship.

The top five ranked teams in Africa are South Sudan, Côte d’Ivoire, Angola, Tunisia, and Egypt.
