Top comedian, actor, and producer, Basketmouth, and Nollywood actor, Mofe Duncan, have paid heartfelt tributes to late filmmaker and creative personality, Kayode Peters.

Basketmouth, who could not hold back his grief, took to his social media accounts to mourn the passing of Peters. In his words, “Rest in peace blood.”

Basketmouth and the late Peters co-created and co-owned the popular TV sitcom, Flatmates, a project that further cemented their friendship and collaboration in the entertainment industry.

Similarly, Mofe Duncan penned a lengthy and emotional tribute to the late filmmaker.

“THANK YOU KP! This would be one of the hardest posts I’ve ever had to post. I’ve had three panic attacks, and I’m still trying to understand why death would draw your name. It’s too soon… but I can’t argue with heaven when it wants its angel back.

“I call you an angel because of your impact on my life and the entertainment industry as a whole. My story with you is 20 years strong… from Half Sisters to Koko Lounge to Ile Baye, you took my hand, held it, pulled me up, and gave me a shot. I cannot talk about my career as a filmmaker and not mention Kayode Peters. My heart is completely broken, and my soul bleeds.

“You will be missed… but my consolation is… you will feel no more pain. Sleep now… rest, my egbon. Rest now. Good night, my brother… my friend… my quarterback… my Pizzle ma Nizzle.”

Kayode Peters passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Canada after a prolonged battle with an undisclosed illness.
