Basketmouth screens first feature film ‘A ghetto love story’ to select audience in Lagos

On Sunday, November 17, comedian and actor Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, hosted a private screening of his debut feature film, A Ghetto Love Story, in Lagos.
The event, which doubled as the film’s premiere, was held at the IMAX Cinema by Filmhouse in Lekki Phase I. It was attended by a mix of the film’s cast and notable celebrities, including Victoria Eze, Basketmouth himself, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, Okey Bakassi, AY Makun, Yaw, Beverly Osu, Akah Nnani, Dr. Abisoye Fagade, Dr. Shaibu Husseini, Emem Ema, Senator, and Denrele Edun.
The 90-minute film features an ensemble cast, including Dorothy Bachor, Akah Nnani, Beverly Osu, Patience Ozokwor, Efe Irele, and Femi Jacobs. Directed by Daniel Orihari, the movie was co-produced by Victoria Eze and Basketmouth, with Basketmouth also serving as the executive producer.
The screening marked a significant milestone in Basketmouth’s career, as he transitions from comedy to filmmaking. Guests at the premiere praised the production and storyline, heightening anticipation for the film’s official release.
