Battle of ego between governors, predecessors tearing APC apart – National Chairman

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Abdullahi Adamu says the party is under the threat of tearing apart due to battle of ego between serving governors and their predecessors.

Speaking at the 11th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party held at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, Adamu said the former governors should accept the serving governors as the leader of the party in their various states.

According to him, the serving governors are the only ones recognised by the party’s constitution as the leaders.

He said where two elephants fight, it is the grass that would suffer, adding that where serving governors and former governors fight, it is the party that would suffer.

He said if the party doesn’t want to suffer the fate that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) suffered in 2015, they must stay united.

“The problem today is a battle between serving state governors and their predecessors. It is a battle of ego. We can’t let this continue because it constitutes a threat to the party,” Adamu said.
