Batts 4 BAT mobilises Ondo women, youths for Tinubu’s re-election

A support group, Battalions for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, popularly known as Batts 4 BAT, has begun a grassroots campaign across Ondo State to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The initiative, sponsored by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and led by the group’s commander, Temitope Iwagun, is targeting residents across the state’s 18 local government areas, wards, polling units and communities.
Iwagun described Batts 4 BAT as a women-led movement established to promote Tinubu’s administration while encouraging greater political participation among women and youths. She said the group’s support for the president was based on what it described as the administration’s reforms and initiatives, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund.
“We are not supporting President Tinubu just because he is a politician, but because he is doing well. Imagine NELFUND. You can get a student loan and pay it at any time. That is enough reason for us to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” she said.
Beyond rallies, Iwagun said the group would build a strong grassroots network while encouraging young people, particularly women, to participate actively in political decision-making. She added that the movement sought to demonstrate the capacity of women and youths to contribute meaningfully to governance.
“Batts 4 BAT is beyond ceremonial mobilisation. We want to show that young people and women can demonstrate capacity and earn their place at the decision-making table through effective grassroots mobilisation,” Iwagun said.
Similarly, the Secretary-General of the Asiwaju Mandate Group, Oladele Olugbemi, urged members to take the campaign to the grassroots and work for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. He cited initiatives in education, agriculture, infrastructure and security as reasons for supporting the administration’s continuity.
“My advice to the people of Ondo State and everybody in Nigeria at large is to ensure that the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu continues, that he wins the 2027 election so that the good things he is doing now will continue,” Olugbemi said.
