BBN Season 11: Martins, Mercedes exit competition after eviction

Martins and Mercedes have exited the Season 11 Big Brother Naija competition after being announced as the first set of housemates to be evicted from the show.
The announcement was made by the host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, during the eviction show on Sunday, with the host stating that the process followed due protocols and verification of viewers’ votes.
Martins Iye entered the Big Brother house as a 30-year-old visual storyteller and model from Kogi State. He is also a creative director. During his introduction, Martins said he joined the competition to showcase his personality and creativity to a wider audience.
His birthday was celebrated in the house shortly after the opening of the show, with fellow housemates organising a special celebration for him. Mercedes also entertained him with a lap dance, while other housemates cheered him on.
Mercedes, whose real name is Ijeoma Emi, is a 26-year-old housemate from Delta State. She is a massage therapist and performance artist. She gained attention online following her sensual performance for Martins during his birthday, which sparked speculation about her prospects in the competition. However, she received fewer votes from viewers.
In a related development, Chisom Chuka emerged as the Most Influential Housemate, a new category introduced in the ongoing season, earning him immunity from next week’s eviction show.
Chisom’s new status came after Sheba used her Head of House power to save him by replacing him with Cassi on the list of housemates nominated for eviction. He subsequently secured immunity from next week’s eviction after winning the Most Influential Housemate title.
The eviction comes as the competition enters its second week, with a large pool of nominees. Sixteen housemates initially faced possible eviction after Head of House Sheba saved Chisom Chuka, while Aikou and Flora remained protected throughout the season as the Gambits.
