Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has debunked allegations of impregnating Big Brother Naija reality star Nengi Hampson.
This follows rumors that Nengi was expecting a child for the governor.
Reacting on X, Nengi dismissed the speculation as baseless, expressing frustration over the false reports.
The ex-beauty queen clarified that her pregnancy had no connection to any governor.
“As much as I believe social media lies aren’t worth my time, I’ve come to accept that we live in a world where people are quick to spread lies without limits, so let me be clear: I’m not pregnant for any governor.
“I’ve chosen to speak because this isn’t just an attack on me—it involves people I hold in the highest regard, and I won’t allow a beautiful, personal part of my life to be turned into something ugly,” she wrote.
Nengi further appealed for privacy as she enjoys her pregnancy journey, wishing her followers a happy Valentine’s weekend.
In the same vein, Governor Diri’s media aide, Samuel Oredipe, described the allegations as false and politically motivated.
He accused the governor’s opponents of attempting to divert attention from activities marking Diri’s fifth anniversary in office. Oredipe also emphasized that Nengi had no personal relationship with the governor.
