Being governor will be continuity of your service to Ekiti, Buhari tells Oyebanji

President Muhammadu Buhari has wished the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the June 18 election in Ekiti State the best of luck.
Buhari, who presented the party’s flag to Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday, said having been involved in various positions within the state, the governorship will serve as continuity of service for the candidate.
According to a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Oyebanji was led to the president by the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu.
“You have served Ekiti State in many capacities, including as Chief of Staff, Commissioner, and Secretary to the State Government. Being governor will just be continuity of service. I honestly wish you the best of luck,” President Buhari told Oyebanji.
Also in the delegation were APC National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, and Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State.
According to Adamu, the party was presenting Oyebanji to the president for “presidential blessings” because they wanted to win the election.
Governor Fayemi said Oyebanji had been involved in governance in Ekiti in the past 20 years, and has acquainted himself creditably.
