Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has returned to training with his club, Chippa United.

The Nigerian international had been out of action after being granted leave by the club following the death of his mother.

The AFCON silver medalist resumed training with his teammates after a two-week absence.

The South Africa-based Super Eagles goaltender expressed excitement at his return but admitted that things have been quite difficult since his mother’s passing.

“Hi guys, it’s really nice to be back in training after all the stress and everything. It’s tough though, but we keep pushing,” said Nwabali, who has been a key player for Chippa United since joining the South African club.

Nwabali has made 12 appearances across all competitions for the team this season and is playing a crucial role in the club’s fight to avoid relegation.

He could feature in Chippa United’s Betway Premiership clash against Marumo Gallants FC this weekend at the Buffalo City Stadium.

Nwabali’s mother passed away on January 2, 2025, just a few months after the death of his father.
