Bisi Fayemi flags off World Bank initiative for girl-child in Ekiti

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi on Tuesday flagged off a World Bank assisted initiative to empower girls in the state.

The initiative will help girls to have access to secondary school education and other opportunities to become agents of socio-economic change.

Under the programme, all social inhibitions that deprive girls of access to education will be removed.

Mrs. Fayemi launched the $25m dollars scheme in the presence of traditional rulers, civil society activists, students and women leaders.

The governor’s wife wrote on her Facebook page: “Today, I flagged off the activities of the Ekiti State Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project.
