Bolarinwa submits APC nomination form, pledges crackdown on insecurity in Kwara

A governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, has pledged to tackle insecurity and improve public welfare if elected in the 2027 general elections.

Bolarinwa made the commitment on Saturday in Abuja while submitting his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to party officials, marking the formal start of his governorship bid.

The aspirant said addressing banditry and restoring peace across Kwara would be a top priority of his administration, noting that parts of the state—particularly in Kwara North and Kwara South—have been severely affected by attacks, leading to displacement and humanitarian concerns.

He emphasized that improving security is essential to rebuilding communities and ensuring the protection of lives and property.

Bolarinwa also outlined plans to strengthen social services, including healthcare, education, and welfare, describing them as critical to improving residents’ quality of life. According to him, governance should deliver tangible benefits that directly impact citizens’ daily lives.

He added that his administration would adopt a people-focused approach aimed at expanding economic opportunities and enhancing service delivery across the state, with attention also given to sectors such as agriculture and education.

The aspirant expressed optimism about succeeding the incumbent governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, stating that he intends to build on existing achievements while introducing reforms to address current challenges.

Bolarinwa, a former councillor, two-term chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, and ex-member of the House of Representatives, was accompanied by members of the Egbe Omo Igbomina FCT Chapter during the submission of his forms to the APC National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Sulaiman Mohammed Argungu.
