Boyfriend attacks housewife with machete in Ondo, culprit on the run

A housewife, Funmilola Osundare is currently on admission at the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Owo, Ondo State after she was allegedly macheted severally by her boyfriend in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The victim was said to have been invited by the boyfriend, who is now on the run to his rented apartment in ljapo, GRA, Akure three days before the attack.

They were reportedly having a nice time before the boyfriend allegedly attacked her, leaving the woman with machete cuts on her face, shoulders and hands.

It was learnt that the boyfriend fled the scene after the attack. The landlord, who heard the victim groaning in pain invited the police.

A source said that when the police arrived, they had to force the door of the apartment open, with the victim found in a pool of blood.

The state Police Command said it has commenced investigation into the bloody attack.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, said: “It was the owner of the apartment that reported the matter to the police. The suspect took the woman to the apartment to spend the night with her. We are on the lookout for him and an investigation has commenced.”
