BREAKING: ADC crisis deepens as Atiku, Babachir Lawal suspended by Adamawa faction

A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State has announced the suspension of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

The development was disclosed on Monday by the faction’s chairman, Raji Sulaiman Zumo, who said the decision followed internal deliberations within the group.

The faction also announced the suspension of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, citing similar concerns.

The move is the latest in a series of developments highlighting the deepening internal crisis within the party, as rival blocs continue to contest leadership positions at various levels.

Another faction, led by Nafiu Bala Gombe, is also laying claim to the position of national chairman, further intensifying the leadership dispute.

The ongoing crisis is believed to have influenced the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw recognition from the ADC leadership headed by former Senate President David Mark.

Observers say the situation underscores the growing instability within the party, raising concerns about its cohesion ahead of future political engagements.
