BREAKING: Adeleke joins Accord Party ahead of Osun governorship primary

By Innocent Raphael & Deborah Oladejo –

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has formally unveiled the Accord Party as his new political platform, declaring his intention to seek a second term on its ticket.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the announcement—made at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Osogbo—was witnessed by national and state leaders of Accord, whom the governor described as partners in the quest for consolidated governance.

Adeleke revealed that he had quietly joined the party on 6 November after extensive consultations with political stakeholders and opinion leaders, noting that the decision was driven by shared philosophical alignment.

He said the Accord Party’s ideology of welfarism mirrors his administration’s commitment to citizens’ and workers’ welfare, which he described as the core of his governance approach.

Adeleke told supporters that he intends to pursue a second term on the Accord platform to complete what he called the ongoing delivery of good governance and democratic dividends.

He welcomed Accord leaders to the Government House, saying they were now united in progress and shared intentions for the people of Osun State and Nigeria at large.

The governor stressed the need for a united front ahead of the next election and pledged inclusive leadership that prioritises the interests of all groups.

“Today, we unveil the new platform for the good people of Osun State. Osun voted for good governance in 2022, and they will support continuity in 2026. The mass of our people are for continuity, and Accord is our party for victory next year,” he added.
