BREAKING: Aiyedatiwa sacks political aides, plans 1,000 fresh appointments

By Boye Oyeyemi –
Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the immediate disengagement of all political aides serving in his administration as part of efforts to improve governance and enhance service delivery in the state.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan.
Those affected by the decision include all Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to the governor.
Adeniyan noted that the move was aimed at repositioning the administration for greater efficiency, adding that the governor expressed appreciation to the affected aides for their contributions during their time in office.
“The governor appreciates the services rendered by the aides and wishes them success in their future endeavours,” the statement read.
The statement further revealed that the governor is set to appoint a new crop of aides to strengthen governance at the grassroots level across the state.
“In order to strengthen coordination and inject fresh capacity into the system, the governor will, in due course, appoint about 1,000 new aides drawn from the 203 wards across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State,” it added.
The planned appointments, according to the statement, are expected to broaden participation in governance and improve service delivery across communities in the state.
