The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been given the powers to take decisions for the party on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC) for the next 90 days.

The decision was taken at the party’s NEC meeting – the first since the Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led NWC took control of the party – which held at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja on Wednesday.

APC National Secretary disclosed the NEC’s decision to transfer its powers until July 19 to the NWC to party delegates.

Senate President, Ahmed Lawan moved the motion to transfer NEC’s powers to the NWC and it was seconded by Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

Among those currently attending the NEC meeting are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President, Dr. Ahmed Lawan, Speaker of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, state governors, state chairmen of APC among others.

Within the period, the party would conduct its primaries for the 2023 general elections, culminating in the primary election primaries on May 30 and 31.
