Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has arrived Ibadan for the opposition political leaders’ summit hosted by Governor Seyi Makinde.
He joins other prominent political figures already in the city, including former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
The summit has attracted key opposition stakeholders from across the country for deliberations expected to focus on national issues, political realignments, and early preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Western Post confirmed that security has been tightened across major locations in Ibadan as the meeting continues.
The convergence of leading opposition figures could mark the early stages of efforts to build a coordinated political front ahead of the 2027 polls, as parties test alliances and shared interests.
A communiqué outlining resolutions from the meeting is expected at the end of the summit.
