BREAKING: Court orders final forfeiture of N9bn assets linked to Achimugu

An Abuja High Court has ordered the final forfeiture of assets worth more than N9 billion linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu to the Federal Government.

The order was made on Thursday by Justice Jude Onwugbuzie of the High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja, following an application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The assets forfeited include jewellery valued at N4.645 billion, 11 luxury vehicles worth N4.293 billion, $50,000 in cash and N30 million.

The EFCC had approached the court seeking the permanent forfeiture of the assets, arguing that they were linked to Achimugu and should be surrendered to the Federal Government.

Justice Onwugbuzie granted the application, ordering that all the listed assets be finally forfeited to the government.
