BREAKING: Fire guts factory in Lagos

A production company, JOSIEN factory, has been engulfed by fire at Abule Osun area of Amuwo Odofin local government in Lagos, in the early hours of today (Friday).
It was gathered that goods worth millions of naira were burnt by the fire as rescue operation is ongoing.

An eyewitness said the officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) response team were on ground.

Although, as at the time of filing this report, the cause of the inferno is unknown.
Confirming the incident, Head of Public Affairs, LASEMA, Mr Nosa Okunbor, in a statement said goods and properties worth millions of naira were damaged.
“However, a significant quantity of goods equally worth millions of naira were salvaged by LASEMA Response Team during the operation.
“Strategic, collaborative efforts were deployed to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent warehouses”, said Okunbor.
He added ” No casualties, nor injuries were recorded due to the incident as there were no occupants in the building as of the time of the fire incident.
“Safety Measures were activated by all members of the mult-agency response teams to ensure safety of responders at the incident scene during the operation”.
