BREAKING: Governor Bello appoints new Ohinoyi of Ebiraland

The Kogi State Government has announced the appointment of Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Anaje, the Ohi of Okengwe-Ehi, as the new Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.
Governor Yahaya Bello made the announcement of the new Ohinoyi in a broadcast on Monday.
This follows the death of the former Ohinoyi, Alhaji Dr. AbdulRahman Ado Ibrahim, on October 29, 2023.
The new Ohinoyi of Ebiraland is a prominent Islamic scholar and leader, who served as the Amirul Hajj of Kogi State in 2022. He was chosen from among 70 candidates who were screened by a committee of elders, in accordance with the Ebira custom of rotating the throne among the major clans of the Ebira.
The Kogi State Government also appointed Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir, the Magajin Garin Katsina, as the new Maigari of Lokoja, and Alhaji Dauda Isah, as the new Maiyaki of Kupa.
