BREAKING: Lagos APC loses chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Elder Reuben Olowu, has passed on.

Olowu until his death was one of the leaders of APC in Ikorodu Division of the Lagos East Senatorial District and a frontman of a major power bloc in Ikorodu Constituency 11 that covers Igbogbo/Bayewu Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

He died about six days to his 77th birthday.

Olowu was a foundation chieftain of the APC in Lagos since the days of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in 1999. He was also a strong member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the botched third republic.

WesternPost reliably gathered that the seasoned politician died in the early hours of Friday (today) in the United States where he had been receiving medical treatment for an undisclosed ailment.

A family source said Olowu had been battling with a protracted illness since February before his passing.

However, his family is yet to officially announce the development to members of the public.

Olowu died barely two months after the death of a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) from Agege Local Government, Prof. Tunde Samuel.
