BREAKING: Makinde presents staff of office to Ladoja as 44th Olubadan

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has officially presented the staff and instruments of office to former governor, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, confirming him as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The coronation ceremony, which drew dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond, was graced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, among other prominent guests.

Speaking during the presentation, Governor Makinde described Oba Ladoja’s ascension as “a fulfillment of destiny and a continuation of Ibadan’s proud cultural heritage.” He noted that the installation was not merely a traditional ritual but also a unifying moment for the people of Ibadanland.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Ladoja expressed profound gratitude to President Tinubu for honoring him with his presence at the ceremony. He reiterated his long-standing call for the creation of Ibadan State and voiced optimism that the President has the capacity to make it a reality.

Reflecting on his journey in life, the new monarch said God had blessed him beyond measure, and he pledged to dedicate the rest of his reign to serving humanity and advancing the welfare of the people of Ibadanland.
