In a statement signed by Muyideen Fabunmi on behalf of the Corps Commander, the agency recalled that Amotekun was established by law on March 4, 2020, and amended on July 13, 2022, with a mandate to gather intelligence, support sister agencies, combat crime and safeguard lives and property in Ondo State.
According to the statement, the state government has approved the recruitment of new regular officers to boost the operations of the Corps and deepen its capacity to tackle kidnapping, terrorism, farm destruction, cultism, highway robbery and other crimes.

“Applicants must also possess relevant security or paramilitary experience or skills in areas such as local hunting, mechanical or building trades, electrical and electronics work, plumbing, welding, tailoring, ICT and other approved fields, while also presenting proof of physical and mental fitness from a government hospital.”
The statement noted that candidates must be at least 20 years old and provide attestations of good character endorsed by a notary public and the chairman of the local government traditional council or a justice of the peace, alongside evidence of long-term residency in their communities.
The statement, however, maintained that interested applicants are to complete online registration on the agency’s website between December 1 and 8, 2025, after which filled forms and supporting documents must be submitted in sealed envelopes at the Amotekun Command Headquarters, Alagbaka, Akure, while shortlisted candidates will be notified via SMS from December 8.
