BREAKING: President Tinubu approves new Ministry of Livestock Development

President Bola Tinubu has approved the creation of a new Ministry of Livestock Development, marking a significant step towards resolving the ongoing farmers-herders crisis in Nigeria.

This announcement came on Tuesday as he inaugurated the Renewed Hope livestock reform implementation committee at the State House.

The committee, tasked with providing sector-focused solutions, is part of a broader strategy to mitigate the decades-long conflict between farmers and nomadic cattle herders.

This move follows a recommendation by the National Livestock Reforms Committee, which on September 14, 2023, advised the creation of a Ministry of Livestock Resources.
