BREAKING: President Tinubu to present 2025 budget proposal Dec 17

President Bola Tinubu will present the 2025 budget proposal to a joint session of the National Assembly on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
The announcement was made by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Tuesday’s plenary, where he confirmed that the President had sent a formal communication regarding the planned presentation.
Atiku Bagudu, the minister of budget and economic planning, had disclosed in November that the federal government will propose a total of N47.9 trillion as the total expenditure in the 2025 budget.
He said details of the proposed budget are expected to focus on economic reforms, infrastructure development, and policies to address Nigeria’s pressing socio-economic challenges.
Meanwhile, the budget presentation is a critical annual event, providing an opportunity for the President to outline the administration’s fiscal policies, priorities, and plans for the coming year.
The session will bring together lawmakers from both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
