BREAKING: Sanwo-Olu imposes ‘total ban’ on okada in 6 LGAs in Lagos
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced a “total ban” on the operation of commercial motorcycles also known as Okada in six local governments in the state.
The governor announced this while briefing the state’s security agents on Wednesday.
The six LGAs where the total ban applies are Ikeja, Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, Apapa, Surulere and Eti-Osa.
According to the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho, the total ban starts from June 1.
“It is the first phase of a total ban on Okada,” Omotosho said.
