BREAKING: Sanwo-Olu presents N2.2trn 2024 budget estimate before Lagos Assembly

The governor of Lagos state, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday presented a total budget estimate of N2.2trn for 2024 fiscal year.

Recurrent expenditure was estimated at N1.02trn while capital projects would engulf N1.224trn.

WesternPost reports that the governor presented N1.6trn budget estimate for 2023 fiscal year on October 16, 2022.

Presenting the 2024 budget christened ‘ Budget of Renewal’ during the special plenary session at the Assembly complex in Alausa-Ikeja, Sanwo-Olu said the budget was put together while considering the current economic reality in the country.

He said the proposal was built on the performance of previous budgets, saying that 2024 budget implementation would support the renewed hope agenda of the federal government led by President Bola Tinubu.

Sanwo-Olu said the 2023 budget execution would achieve 90% at the end of the year.
