BREAKING: Suspended Alimosho LG chairman apologizes to Lagos Assembly

The suspended chairman of Alimosho Local Government Area, Jelili Sulaimon, has issued a public apology to the Lagos State House of Assembly, seeking forgiveness nearly a month after his suspension for alleged non-compliance and defiance of legislative directives.
In a letter addressed to Speaker Mudashiru Obasa and read on the House floor on Tuesday, Sulaimon acknowledged that his actions may have been perceived as disrespectful. He expressed regret for any misunderstanding and pledged to respect the Assembly and foster a constructive working relationship going forward.

“I am writing to express my most sincere and heartfelt apology for any actions, inactions, or misrepresentations on my part that may have led to the recent misunderstanding with the esteemed Lagos State House of Assembly,” Sulaimon stated in the letter. He added that he has always held the Assembly and its leadership in the highest regard.
As part of his efforts to reconcile with the Assembly, Sulaimon informed the House that he has withdrawn the lawsuit he filed against it in Federal High Court, Abuja.
In the letter, he emphasized his commitment to improving relations with the Assembly: “I am committed to fostering a more constructive and respectful relationship going forward. I sincerely apologize for any inconveniences caused by my actions or inactions.”
The House has not yet debated the apology letter, which marks Sulaimon’s first public attempt at reconciliation since his suspension.
