BREAKING: Tinubu arrives in France for three-day state visit

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Paris for a three-day official visit at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.

The Nigerian leader, accompanied by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, landed at Orly Airport in Paris around 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday. He was received with full military honors by the French Republican Guard.

The visit, announced on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and France.

According to the presidency, discussions will focus on critical areas such as agriculture, security, education, health, youth empowerment, innovation, and energy transition.

Western Post had earlier reported that President Tinubu departed Abuja for Paris earlier on Wednesday morning, taking off at approximately 11:20 a.m.

The President is accompanied by a high-ranking delegation for meetings designed to advance Nigeria’s global partnerships and foster international cooperation.

The visit is expected to deepen political and economic ties between the two nations, underscoring the Tinubu administration’s commitment to sustainable development and global collaboration.

During the visit, President Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu are scheduled to tour the historic Les Invalides military museum before meeting with President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron at the Élysée Palace.
