BREAKING: Trump sworn in as 47th president of US
Donald Trump has been sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts as the 47th president of the United States (US), marking a political comeback after being convicted of felonies. His running mate, JD Vance, was sworn in by Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States,” Trump said in his oath.
The Presidential Oath of Office is specified in Article II, Section 1 of the US Constitution. The oath for other federal officials, including the vice president, is not in the Constitution. Congress created those oaths by statute
