BREAKING: Two children die as tank scaffolding collapses on building in Lagos

Two children have been confirmed dead after a water tank scaffolding collapsed on a bungalow at Adeleye Street, LadyLark Bariga in Lagos State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred at about 9: 46pm on Sunday and that three adult males sustained injuries.

WesternPost learnt that those injured were taken to nearby hospitals when officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) got to the scene.

Giving more details on the incident, LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, in a statement said: “The attention of first responders has been drawn to a building collapse at Onipanu enroute Adeleye Street, Ladylark, Bariga, Yaba Lagos.

“The distress call was received by responders at about 9:46pm today (Sunday). The Agency activated its response to the above incident and upon arrival at the incident scene, discovered that the tank scaffolding of a 2-storey building collapsed on a bungalow beside it and affected two rooms.

“Unfortunately two children died from the impact. three adult males sustained injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals.

“The Agency’s response team alongside Lagos State Fire and LASBCA responders  are on standby at the incident scene. Operation ongoing and more Updates to follow.”
