BREAKING: UAE lifts Visa ban on Nigerians

Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates have reached an agreement on visas. Effective today, Nigerians can now obtain visa to the UAE.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, disclosed this after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu on Monday.
The minister said, “Nigeria has been discussing with the UAE over the ban on Nigerians traveling to that country, but today an agreement has been reached on that.
“Now Nigerian passport holders can be issued visa to travel to United Arab Emirates.”
The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, had in June revealed plans by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government to lift the visa ban imposed on Nigerian travellers.
According to Keyamo, President Bola Tinubu and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reached a resolution on the issue. He added that although the UAE had originally specified more requirements that needed to be satisfied before the ban could be formally withdrawn, the Nigerian government has now finished all requirements, opening the door for an impending declaration from the UAE government.
Nigerians and nationals of 19 other African nations were prohibited from visiting the United Arab Emirates in October 2022. Travel agencies and trade partners were notified by the nation’s authorities to refuse any applications in the wake of the action.
It is anticipated that the lifting of the restriction will facilitate travel again for Nigerian nationals to the United Arab Emirates, strengthening bilateral ties and collaboration between the two nations.
