BREAKING: Wanted terrorist, Halilu Buzu, killed (Photos)
Wanted terrorist, Halilu Buzu, a national of Buzu in the Republic of Niger declared wanted for terrorising Nigerian territory, particularly Zamfara State has been killed.
He was killed in an operation led by the Nigerian Military around Dajin Maiyanchi in the forest of Zamfara State located around Maru Local Government on Thursday night.
The development came in the wake of the directive of President Bola Tinubu that the Minister of Defence and security chiefs should proceed to the deep forests of Sokoto State to weed out terrorists.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, had in May this year, declared Buzu wanted.
The notorious terrorist leader had reportedly settled in Subbubu Forest in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
He was said to be running a camp for illegal gold mining located at Kawayi, in Anka Local Government Area of the state, with many boys working for him.
Buzu is also known as a prominent cattle rustler.
His group reportedly killed 19 villagers at Farar Kasa early this year.
The team that stormed Sokoto State in the wake of the directive was led by the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.
