BREAKING: Motorcyclist trapped as tanker falls, spills 33,000 litres of fuel on Apapa-Oshodi Expressway

A tanker conveying 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) outbound Mile 2 has fallen on its side, spilling its contents on the road at the Alaba Express Bus stop, Apapa Oshodi Expressway in Amuwo-Odofin area of Lagos state.
WesternPost gathered that the driver of the tanker lost control while on motion.
As at the time of filing this report, it was learnt that an adult male motorcyclist waa trapped beneath the tanker, while officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Ajegunle have been alerted on the incident.


Confirming the incident, Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Adeseye Margaret, in a statement on Tuesday evening, said that efforts were ongoing to recover the trapped man.
She said: “The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is currently salvaging a 33,000 litres tanker conveying PMS outbound Mile 2 which accidentally lost control while on motion and fell on its side, thereby spilling its contents at Alaba Express Bus Stop, Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.
“The incident is being mitigate by the Ajegunle fire crew of the agency and has it under control with no palpable cause for alarm. An adult male motorcyclist is however trapped beneath the tanker as efforts are ongoing to recover him.”
