Buhari heads to Daura begins winding down of presidential tenure

President Muhammadu Buhari has begun winding down his tenure which comes to an end on May 29, 2023.
The president assumed office May 29, 2015 for his first term after defeating incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan in the March 2015 presidential election.
He also won a second term in office in 2019 after defeating former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
With the tenure coming to an end soon, signs are showing that the president has already started preparing for life outside the presidential villa.
The president’s daily activities for the week which was seen by WesternPost shows that the president has started looking forward to life away from the Villa.
While President Buhari will preside over the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign in Jos, Plateau State on Tuesday, he will also preside over the Hybrid Federal Executive Council Meeting on Wednesday.
The president is then expected to travel to Daura same day.

President Buhari’s visit to Daura comes after he returned from a medical leave to the United Kingdom on Sunday. He had been away from the country since October 31.
