Buhari, Yahaya Bello meet ahead APC presidential primaries

Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello is meeting with Presidential Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the party’s presidential primaries today.

While the details of the meeting was not revealed, it is not unconnected with the decision of the northern APC governors to back power shift to the South.

Bello failed to attend their Monday meeting where they affirmed an earlier decision they took on Saturday that the party’s presidential candidate should come from the South after President Buhari’s eight-year tenure.

Bello who is a presidential aspirant was also absent from the Saturday meeting.

Speaking with newsmen, Kaduna State Governor Nasir El Rufai said Bello was absent from the meeting because he did not support the decision to support a southern presidential candidate.
