Businessman seeks protection over threat, danger to life

Mr. Shofela, a businessman has called on the inspector General of police, Kayode Egbetokun and the Lagos state Governor, Babatunde Sanwoolu to safe his life and that of his families from land grabbers threatening to sniff life out of him for not just cause.
Shofela made the call on Friday, while speaking with Journalists. He said the call became imperative to unsafe his life and families from notorious land grabbers at Ibeju- Lekki axis who had made frantic attempts to take over his landed property. While calling on the inspector General of police, Lagos state Governor and well meaning Nigerians, including human right activists to protect him and his family threat of life.
In a statement, he said he bought a plot of land in Oluga Village, Ibeju-Lekki Area of Lagos State in 2018, for 3 million naira with the plan to develop it into a service apartment complex to generate income and secure his family’s financial future.
The statement reads” I acquired the land legally, paid 3 million Naira and obtained all the necessary documentation. However, my dream quickly turned into a nightmare when an influential local family, notorious for land grabbing in the area, claimed ownership of the land and demanded that I either vacate or pay an exorbitant 200 million Naira to retain it.
“When I refused to comply and presented my legal documents to support my ownership, the family resorted to threats of life, intimidation to force me to abandon the land.”
Some different gang’s Notorious group assigned to kill me and other relatives, Strangers began showing up near my house, warning me to “leave the land before it’s too late.”
“Threats to monitoring my daily routine calls knowing my activities of my life As time passed, the intimidation escalated. Thugs began vandalizing and giving him injuries on body around the town and issuing threats against my family.
“I reported these incidents to the local police and even submitted written complaints to the Zone 2 AIG Command. However, no action was taken, as the perpetrators were protected by their prominent political connections and government backup.
“They confronted my wife, demanding to know my whereabouts. When she refused to cooperate, they brutally attacked her using machetes and broken bottles, leaving her severely injured.
“My wife suffered deep injuries as well, requiring emergency surgery. She now bears permanent scars, both physical and emotional. The attack left my entire family traumatized, fearful and danger,” he said.
