Busy weekend for Nigerian women as Super Falcons, Flamingos seek honours

It is a busy schedule for Nigeria this Saturday as two of her women’s national teams will be in action at different venues.
At home, the senior women’s team, the Super Falcons, under the guidance of coach Justin Madugu, will face Algeria’s Green Ladies in the first of a two-legged international friendly match.
The encounter, scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m., will take place at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State.
In the Dominican Republic, the U-17 women’s team, the Flamingos, will go up against the USA in a challenging quarterfinal match of the FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup.
The Nigerian ladies showed remarkable form in the preliminary stage, defeating New Zealand 4-1 and Ecuador 4-0 in their first two games, before rounding off a perfect group phase with a 1-0 win over the host nation, the Dominican Republic.
Coach Bankole Olowookere and his players are well aware of the challenge the Americans pose and will aim to take control from the start in the game scheduled to kick off at 8:30 p.m.
