The Confederation of African Football (CAF), has officially written to the Libyan Football Federarion (LFF), demanding their response to the allegations levelled against them by Nigeria.
The continent’s soccer governing body had already taken some steps on the matter, postponing the encounter and referring it to it’s competent bodies for investigations.
However, in order to get more facts and to get into the root of the matter, the body has sent a letter to the LFF to respond to the complaints raised against them by the Nigeria Football Federarion (NFF).
According to information, CAF has given the LFF up till the end of the week to respond to its letter.
As at the moment, there has not been any meeting, either by CAF or it’s competent bodies on the matter and no decision has yet been taken by the Confederation.
This laid to rest, news flying around that CAF has picked a new date for the botched AFCON Qualifier Group D match.
Unconfirmed reports had it that CAF has rescheduled the encounter for March, with Angola as the venue, while it was reported that Libya has been banned from playing at home until 2026.
The bodies to which the case has been referred, are expected to meet next week, when the LFF would have sent their response to CAF’s letter to the body.
