The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has lauded the Centenary City Project, describing it as a strategic initiative to attract investment and position Nigeria as a global business hub.
Dangiwa made the remark during an inspection tour of the project in Abuja, accompanied by Permanent Secretary Dr. Shuaib Belgore and senior ministry officials.

Launched in 2014 to mark Nigeria’s 100th anniversary, the Centenary City Project is a master-planned smart city designed to attract international investors with world-class infrastructure, including sports and medical tourism facilities.

“The Centenary City has a good location, vast landmass, and a free trade zone that will enhance productivity. It is conducive for both national and international investors,” Dangiwa said in a statement by the ministry’s Director of Press, Salisu Haiba, on Tuesday.

He emphasized that the Federal Government would encourage investors to explore opportunities within the city, aligning with the Renewed Hope City agenda, which promotes inclusive urban development.

During the tour, Dangiwa also visited the Renewed Hope City project site in Kasana, Kubwa, and the National Housing Project in Gwagwalada.

He urged developers of these estates to fast-track construction and ensure completion by April, ahead of their scheduled commissioning on May 29.

“All necessary measures must be put in place to complete the housing units on time,” he directed.
