CHAN: Super Eagles B to begin camping Monday

Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles are expected to begin preparations for next year’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Monday.

Ahead of the championship, to be hosted by Kenya, Ethiopia, and Uganda, Nigerian football officials are planning an early preparation for the team.

If feelers from the football governing body are anything to go by, the CHAN Eagles will open their training camp for the showpiece on Monday.

With the Nigerian top-flight league, the NPFL, on break until January 25 after the conclusion of the first round, the CHAN Eagles are expected to focus fully on preparations for the tournament, which will take place next month in the East African countries.

Nigeria will be returning to CHAN after six years, having last participated in the championship in 2018, where the team finished second after losing 1-4 to hosts Morocco in the final.

Since then, Nigeria has failed to qualify for subsequent editions until last weekend when the current squad beat the Black Galaxies of Ghana 3-1 on aggregate to book a ticket to the next edition.
