Chelle seeks ex-Eagles legends’ help ahead World Cup qualifier

Super Eagles manager Eric Sekou Chelle is leaving no stone unturned in his bid to revive Nigeria’s fading hopes of securing a 2026 World Cup ticket.
The former Malian national team coach recently held discussions with several Super Eagles players ahead of their matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
In another positive move, Chelle has sought the help of Super Eagles legends, calling on them to help motivate the team.
The Super Eagles need victories in both matches to boost their chances of qualifying for the World Cup.
In an interview with MainlandMetro, Chelle confirmed that he had invited Nigerian football legends to join the team, and they accepted the invitation.
“I’ve asked the Nigerian legends to join us for this important journey, and I’m pleased that they’ve agreed to be part of it,” Chelle said. “I want to assure Nigerians that we are fully committed to preparing well for these matches, and we will do everything necessary to get back on track,” he added.
Currently, the Super Eagles sit fifth in the standings with four points from four matches.
