Chelsea held by brave Brentford as Tottenham hammer West Ham

Chelsea were denied maximum points on Saturday night as Brentford scored a stoppage-time goal to end their English Premiership clash 2-2.

It was a dramatic end to the last game of the day, as Fabio Carvalho scored deep into stoppage time to deny the Blues, who thought they had won, having scored their second goal five minutes from full time.

Brentford shot to the lead in the 35th minute through Kevin Schade, but Cole Palmer restored parity with the equaliser in the 61st minute before Moises Caicedo scored what appears to be the winning goal in the 85th minute, but Carvalho ensured spoils were shared, scoring Brentford’s equaliser in the fourth minute of added time.

Tottenham were ruthless away from home, hammering West Ham 3-0 to move to the second position on the log.

AFC Bournemouth were 2-1 winners over Brighton and Hove Albion, while Crystal Palace ended their home tie goalless against Sunderland.

Everton could not see off Aston Villa at home as they both battled to a nil-all draw, but both Fulham and Newcastle picked up slim wins over Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, winning 1-0, respectively.
