Chelsea hit five past West Ham in London derby rout

Chelsea responded to their disappointing start to the season with a resounding 5-1 win over London neighbours West Ham on Friday.

After being held goalless at home by Crystal Palace last weekend, the Blues came out firing against the Hammers, despite conceding first.

Lucas Paquetá’s sixth-minute opener for the hosts was quickly cancelled out, with João Pedro drawing Chelsea level in the 15th minute.

Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernández then struck in the 23rd and 34th minutes to put Chelsea firmly in control with a 3-1 lead before halftime.

The Blues completed the rout after the break through Moisés Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah, who scored in the 54th and 58th minutes respectively.

The emphatic victory lifts Chelsea to the top of the table with four points from two games, pending the outcome of other fixtures this weekend.
